The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug Trailer Review

Hear Ye! Hear Ye! It is time to be Hobbity again as the countdown for The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug has begun. The movie hits theaters on December 13th and everybody is excited to see Smaug, the dragon. When The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was released, Denny's was serving Hobbit's Fare lunch and breakfast. I seriously wish that happens all over again.
Let's talk about the wonderful trailer ...
Bilbo Baggins is seen tiptoeing into Erebor, the Kingdom Under the Mountain. The mountain is now Smaug's lair and Bilbo (the 'Burglar' - as Thorin Oakenshield continues to call him, stubbornly) is destined to face him in this movie. Yikes! The fellow is literally scared to the bones! He calls him Smaug, the Stupendous.
The elf king is seen offering Thorin Oakenshield his help in acclaiming the Kingdom of Erebor. The company of dwarves under Thorin are suspicious of the elf king's loyalty. Thorin agrees.
Thorin's will to reclaim his homeland is under severe scrutiny. There is fear that he will bring ruin and destruction by provoking Smaug, the dragon.
"There is no king under the mountain and nor will there ever be."
Legolas has seemed to grown very fond of Tauriel (played by Evangeline Lilly)- the elf warrior. She is a fresh face and I would love to see a female killer in the male dominated Hobbit saga.
"You have no right to enter that mountain." says Bard the Bowman, furiously, staring down at Thorin.
"I have the ONLY right." replies Thorin, giving him his dark, deadly king's stare, despite his short height.
Next, we see Gandalf the Grey
"We'd been blind in our blindness. Our enemy has returned."
The army of Orcs is moving!
There is a flash of Sauron's Eye!
Bilbo begins to share his finding of the One Ring with Gandalf, but then hesitates and changes his mind as the creepiness of the ring overpowers his will. "Courage!" he says, when Gandalf asks him what did he find.
There is the giant spider, Shelob I am assuming. Fights are happening. The dwarves are jumping into barrels. This was one scene that was being shown to be in the filming stages in Peter Jackson's Production Vlogs. It was super funny in the shooting context, but in the movie it appears pretty serious. Run-for-your-life serious!
Towards the end of the trailer, we hear Benedict's Cumberbatch's voice. It is a bone-chilling mix of a snarl, whisper, and a deep-throat voice.
"Don't be shy," says Smaug, "Step into the light!"
Dragonfire hits the screen, engulfing the blackness in a bright orange-yellow flame and the trailer concludes.

DECEMBER 13TH, 2013 - The Countdown Begins!
