I am a poetess. Poetry's been with me since I made sense of rhyme and reason. Cat rhymed with fat. I was fat, I chased a black cat, and the story continued. There's no better way to liquify thoughts and pour them into words that follow a rhyme, or a rhythm. It's cathartic, it's the most sane thing to do.

This year's theme is Quarantine. 2020 is the year of humankind's fight with the deadly pandemic that has transformed the world into a big ghost town. Spring in the US has been cursed. As death tolls climb, hundreds dying by the day's end, melancholy has become the theme of everything. The deserted streets, the lockdowns, the Wizarding World and Disney closures, lurking dangers in every grocery trip, and a mad race for supplies are all burdensome on the heart and soul. Perhaps penning down the restlessness, the fear, and the sadness might help ease a few things.
