♫Mubarak, Eid Mubarak!♫ Part Two

♫Mubarak, Eid Mubarak!♫

After Eid prayers we were famished! So we headed for brunch at the Ladies' Fav Indian Hangout. It had been more than 3 months since we had lunched there! The service staff was cheering: "Long time!" and they had our whole wheat tandoori naans ready. The chef asked if it was Eid and I mouthed a difficult yes through a big bite of Tuna Rice from the buffet. He wished us then and we got soda refills! LIKE A BOSS!

There was a special little guest with us who sat in an upchair for her first time Masha'Allah. Introducing, my niece Maryam a.k.a. Gubboo. She was all savvy eating whole wheat naan - tiny little bits. The menu was delicious as usual. There was Vegetable Makhni, Chicken Tikka, Palak Paneer, Goat Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tuna Rice, Vegetable Pakora, Daal, Sambhar, and a couple other delicacies. Dessert was Kheer and Gulab Jamun! Bro and S.I.L. ordered a Gulab Jamun and Vanilla ice-cream combo to sweeten the deal.

A family of some super creative ladies hosted a brilliant Eid Potluck. It was all ladies which meant that we could take our Hijabs off and strut our earrings and necklaces! O! And also dress up heavy duty like we were attending a wedding of the Queen of Egypt or something.

Sara and I locked away our dieting philosophies for Eid and sampled everything from the dessert counter! The trifle! Refreshing! I love it when the servings are in a glass. The cake was uber awesome! There was halwa that's my personal favorite. And that bread and cream pudding up there - dusted with cocoa powder - was the thing!

All bangles are from Pakistan

Our hands looked really pretty with the henna. Mine was done the same day as the photo and Sara's is from the day before. My color still came out super dark! Henna usually becomes darker on the skin after a full day.
