Holiday Lights of New York City

"Holiday Lights of NYC"
December Photography Month 2012
Off-Prompt
It may seem from the serenity of the photograph that I was enjoying the delicate pleasures of sightseeing. I was; however, stuck in a nerve-testing traffic jam in downtown Manhattan when I took this photo. Apparently, an intersection had been blocked by a protocol of policemen, ambulance, and fire trucks because of some incident. Having been traveling for several hours from Maryland, by car, it was a torture of the likes of a magician's straightjacket to be stuck forever on the road.
New York city was very, very cold (freezing is the word), and unusually less crowded for the holiday season. I believe that assumption would turn out very wrong when Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin would plug in live from Times Square to bring in 2013.
