Ramadan Diaries Are About To Begin

Ramadan ... the Islamic month of fasting is starting this Sunday! My brain has slipped into extreme, apocalypse prep mode. Why? Because my Ramadan lifestyle is similar to that of a hibernating sloth during the 30 days. To be that way takes a great deal of prep. Groceries, suhoor (pre-fast morning meals), and fast-breaker snacks need to be stocked in the freezers. I have been making multiple trips to the meat shop to get Halal chicken to cook them curries (Sara cooking for the most part!) and freezing them. Ouch! --- the extra driving has been pretty hard on my lower back joints. I am walking like a penguin! I need my chiropractic!

I'd be writing the Ramadan Diaries 2019. What is that? It is going to be a festive display of what happens in a Muslim household during the blessed month of Ramadan. Ramadan Diaries are happening on my other blog, Sisterly Yours. But I'd be cross posting! It is going to be a Spring / Summer Ramadan and again the hours would be long. My Ramadan theme, as seen in the above shot, is the No Drama Llama, combined with the colors of Spring. So, I am getting the pom pom string lights out. The biggest problem Sara and I are facing are to complete cleaning the house so we can hibernate in peace. Recently, we decided NOT to clean thoroughly because a strategically well-hidden mess is no mess at all! Besides, everyone just loads us with chores so we figured we'd just keep it easy this time.

So, stay tuned to Abbie's Adventure Diaries, and keep a look out for the Ramadan celebrations happening in 2019. Most definitely, this year is different. Insha'Allah (God Willing) I intend on making this very creative, less panicky, more productive, and memorable.
