Wintery Mix 2015 Begins

Happy first day Winter! My beautiful planet is at the brink of transforming into a Winter wonderland. Christmas trees with gorgeous ornaments are popping up everywhere. I do not celebrate Christmas but I adore the tree displays and holiday decorations. I am not a big fan of the temperature drop because my toes turn purple, my skin begins mottling, and every other musculo-skeletal issue shoots off. Still, I am hoping for a beautiful winter, inshaAllah [God Willing].

GOOGLE'S WINTER SOLSTICE DOODLE

Well what d'you know? The #GoogleDoodle is a snow globe! I have the perfect snow globe my friend Halima gifted me this month to commemorate my naturalization [becoming a US citizen!] year 2015. I will be showing the snow globe off soon!

Shopping doubles, triples, and quadruples in Fall and Winter. How can one resist leather jackets? How can one resist the decor? If Fall is like fantasy fiction, Winter is fairytale wonderland on my planet of creativity. Everything seems magical in the freezing chill of Maryland. I have my winter accessories out. There will be a post about Winter Must Haves shortly.

THIS GIRL'S BEST FRIENDS ARE NOT DIAMONDS #BECAUSEHOTCOCOA 

You must believe me when I say I picked these up from a doctor's office. When you visit super awesome hospitals you get super awesome surprises. I picked two hot cocoa K-cups and YES that means I am going to re-kindle my love for my very old machine. It was gifted to me on one of my birthdays by Mom and Sara and then my brother confiscated it as his private property. He installed a module into it that lets him put in granular coffee in a filter instead of using the machine's own K cup system. I am going to reclaim my property with hot cocoa this Winter.

SPIRIT OF GIVING

I am super glad I have started my winter on a charitable note. My chiropractic puts up ornaments with a gift option on her office walls each holiday season. This year her charitable gifts are going to a pregnancy crisis center nearby. Mum, Sara, and I made our picks and we shopped for the little darlings who would awaken in this world to lots of heartfelt love from us. 

THERE HE GOES TO SPREAD SMILES IN A RED SUIT AND WHITE BEARD

My city's fire department and police coordinate Santa trips all around the neighborhood. He rides on a fire truck, blowing crazy sirens, and escorted by police cars. This is such a precious tradition, even though I do not celebrate Christmas. It is always a joy to see little kids jump up and down to meet and greet this cop/firefighter.
