Make-Belief

I can cling on, can I not,
To a make-belief reality in my mind?
After all; it is satirical, in dark humor,
The actual reality of humankind.
Blood deceives blood;
It is not thicker than water,
And toxic relationships breed,
Malignant intents prosper.
My make-belief reality may be surreal,
And words and gestures may not exist.
They celebrate; figments of my imagination,
In honesty, and do not desist.
 Yes, I dwell in dreams -
Dreams of my own choice -
I rhyme with words unknown to you,
And in surreal colors I rejoice.
