Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts - Behind the Scenes | Universal Orlando

Sara and I have had overactive nerves since the scaffolding went up at Universal Studios, Orlando-FL masking the extended park surprise to The Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. We were there last year to see everything covered up and giant cranes hovering overhead showing up in all our photos taken at the park. The wait is finally beginning to melt away, but until we actually get there the daily news is like the tip of the iceberg - long way to meltdown.

Universal Orlando is the best at keeping secrets. The Harry Potter ones are always big fat ones. They are also fabulous as giving little firecracker details that stir pandemonium before they drop the dynamite bomb on the launch day! A video has been released where the guys are speaking about the most highly anticipated 3D roller coaster ride in the U.S. right now - Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts *shivers*.

Warwick Davis who played Griphook the Gringotts Bank goblin explains that the ride gives its riders a look at the movie scenes from a different perspective. Movie events come to life just after Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Griphook go past the waterfall.

Thierry Coup, the Senior Vice President of Creative Studio at Univeral Parks & Resorts reveals some intriguing details about the ride.

There is a face to face encounter with Bellatrix Lestrange. That sister is crazy! She's seen shooting an electric flare of a spell at the riders. Wicked! We'd be sent tumbling down deeper into Gringotts Bank.

Free fall, everybody!

Bang! Then we face the security patrol that beats us up, misses, and we plunge further down.

Free fall again everybody!

ROOOAAARRRR!
DRAGON IN YOUR FACE!!!
I am going to love this one I am telling you. I still haven't forgotten the heat from the dragon breath I was hit by in Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. That Hungarian Horntail definitely knows how to give a good scare. Bring it on!

Wait for it ...

Wait for it ...

*silence*

*sinister silent music*

FACE TO FACE WITH LORD VOLDEMORT!!!
"AVADA KEDAVRA!"
Screen goes green! I would have had peed my pants. The world ends, or does it???
Rupert Grint (our heart-of-a-mouse Ron Weasley) thinks that this is going to be scary. This is the first time that fans will actually get to experience the evil of Lord Voldemort. I can look forward to nightmares of the noseless Lord.

I am guessing this ride is going to blow people's minds. This is a high-speed roller coaster that's making its way through the claustrophobic tunnels of Gringotts Banks. The 3D is going to make it look like we're going to hit against them any time. I hope the waterfall is real splashes of water. I remember Aragog's spit on my face in The Forbidden Journey. That nasty eight-legged freakzilla spider thing!

Harry Potter Films Art Director Alan Gilmore added to the anticipation. He says that the amazing new technology has made this a rocking good ride at so many levels. Universal Parks and Resorts President Mark Woodbury describes it as an unimaginable experience where fans will find themselves caught in the middle of all the action at Gringotts Bank security breach. He says that the 3D made him feel like he's survived the most incredible adventure of his life!

Rupert Grint thinks this is going to be scary. It would be the first time the fans are going to experiene the evil of Voldemort. In 3D he says it will be "Quiet a lot to handle"
