DePhoMo '12 Day 21 Apocalypse

Apocalypse - "The Lost Continent"
Universal Orlando, Florida
The Lost Continent is one of the parts of the Universal Orlando Islands Of Adventure. This was a scene of the apocalypse that destroyed the continent of mammoth sized people. The arm, bearing a war weapon, and sandal-enclad feet were left behind as the continent fell to ruins. Brilliant themed photo I found for today's Apocalypse prompt.
It was hyped to be Doomsday today. Considering the truckload of chores and fears I deal with on a daily basis, I wouldn't have noticed the sky falling and the earth cracking apart to spill lava cakes. Nothing happened though, unless it is expected to happen in another 6 hours.
I cannot believe how incredibly silly it was for people to waste dollars and dollars worth of money to prepare documentaries, texts, and campaigns to convince the public that Planet Nibiru would be hitting Earth, bringing up Armageddon, great Tsunamis would be causing lands to go lost like Atlantis, or other natural disasters would strike to cause an apocalypse.
I feel that people in this world are already living an apocalypse everyday. Those in war-struck regions, those with debilitating diseases and disabilities, those with famine and drought in their lands, those who suffer socially and have no hope.
Instead of worrying about the inevitable apocalypse that is bound to strike sometime, it would be so much more productive to fight the daily apocalypses that have tainted the life of many.
