The Hobbit Production Vlog #5 - Review

Peter Jackson's production vlogs of The Hobbit are my favorite entertainment and this time the 5th episode was all about logistics of shooting the movie.
This movie is BIG, these PEOPLE are big. I was appalled to see their logistics strategies. It was as if, while shooting in multiple locations all over New Zealand, they are moving an entire planet from one place to another. A fleet of hundreds of trucks, helicopters, vans, lorries, boats ... there is an entire army of vehicles alone that the movie employs. 500 people work as a massive and highly organized team to conduct the business of successful film making.
It isn't just the set that they are moving, there are portable toilets, cafeterias, coffee brewing kiosks, sitting lounges, animals, and 60 kilos of toilet paper! And that is only a beginner's list.
The staff is so diversely trained and highly professional and specialized. There are location managers, transport managers, and so on.
The Prime Minister of New Zealand, John Key, accompanies Peter Jackson in this vlog and they're beaming over the set of Hobbiton which will serve to be the most-visited tourist attraction of New Zealand in the years to come.
Elijah Wood is seen walking around in the newly built Hobbiton remembering his 19 year old self from 11 years ago when the first of The Lord Of The Rings was being shot.
Hobbit itself was bustling with life! There were Hobbits of all sizes and ages roaming around, sipping tea or beer, running around playing games, and being merry ... the kind of life everybody dreams of living with not a care in the world.
Watching the vlog transported me into my favorite part of fiction and I am literally beaming with happiness. Peter Jackson has promised a second part to this location episode in January. I CAN'T WAIT!
