The main reason I became an eternal, inseparable part of the Wizarding World was because it hit home for a weirdo's heart. I was the fat kid, the bullied, the punching bag, the humpty dumpty, the cornerstone. Sure there were other fat kids around who were popular. My problem was --- I was a unique one, a weird one. I was a Disney kid, a pirates fan! I was spinning out deep poetry like a pro, I had a blog, I was into sci-fi! The time and place I was in was when people treated kids like us as crazy, atypical, strange, and all those words. The Harry Potter books found me in the middle of all that. Suddenly, the need for social acceptance vanished. I accepted my weirdness. It was the beginning of Undesirable No. 1.
So, I related to Harry Potter in so many ways. Him against the world, socially awkward, stared at, theories and controversy going around, him fighting the bad and having to prove himself --- everything connected. The bad and the evil were never difficult to find and I always the difficult path of the absolute good whenever I arrived at that fork. Keeping away from the bad choices landed me in a very lonely place. I learned to love my solitude because I had found a portal to the Wizarding World. You find me weird, I AM weird!
