Knockturn Alley: A Mean Dark Place

The very inviting Knockturn Alley sign. We'd missed this on our first trip and had to search for it the next day.
The nook in Knockturn Alley

Knockturn Alley is an indoor sort of scene because they've created an artificial dark sky up there. It is meant to be pretty eerie. On a hot day it was a breath of cool for us.

Selling spooky locks and keys.

There were giant spiders crawling behind these newspaper-boarded windows.

Another creepy sign.

"Dystyl Phaelanges" - yikes! phaelanges are part of the skeleton!

I personally loved this little nook in Knockturn Alley. This was not meant to be entered and it is supposed to provoke horror, but I can actually picture myself sitting on those steps and writing a poem.

This artist's corner was inside a set of glass windows. I can picture myself sitting in there too!

This is a big central display in Knockturn Alley. It is the Dystyl Phaelanges: the shop sells bones and what not. There are skeletons of every shape and size on display and a giant screen has animated skeletons!

These gorgeous heads are part of this central display.

These heads are similar to the one that directs the driver of the Knight Bus. They sing and joke around in Knockturn Alley.

Borgin and Burkes is for real! It sells the creepy stuff that a Goth soul like me dreams of having - each and every piece.

That's me! I'm checking out the Hand of Glory. It's good they have this guy behind glass because we don't want this happening ...

Hand of Glory on the bottom shelf.

So I didn't touch.

The glorious Deatheater's mask.

That black chandelier with the cobwebs has made it to my life's wish list of impossible things.

What better place to advertise Azkaban breakouts than a shoppe in Knockturn Alley?

I totally wanted that lady Deatheater's dress. It had a scary price tag of $200 on it!

  1. Hi,
Very interesting, but I wouldn't visit Knockturn Alley. I don't like mean dark places.

    1. Aww! I love dark, mean, Gothic places :) Thanks for visiting! I'll be visiting your site too!

  2. I'd love to visit this sometime. I'd like to buy The Hand of Glory.

    1. O! How I wish they were selling it! I have just the place for it in my study

  3. So cool! I really, really need to get there someday. I'd hate the spiders, though. Thanks for all the pictures! :)

    1. Hey, you're always welcome to sneak around Abbie's Adventure Diaries and share the feel. I'll be uploading videos in some time too.

  4. Oh, how creep-tastic! That is definitely going on the list of places to visit!

  5. Oh, how creep-tastic! That is definitely going on the list of places to visit!

    1. I know, right? It was insane! I seriously wanted to touch the Hand Of Glory for real. Too bad it was in a glass box.
