Precious Pernicious

A choice between two worlds;
A choice for the better obvious,
Faith over adulation,
As the precious turned pernicious.
Did she; who retreated
As the choice was best,
Give love a bad name?

Nay! She was but a phoenix,
Whose ashes relived -
A stronger burning flame.
Faith's beauty stands divine,
No sacrifice goes unseen.
His - our Lord's - are the greatest tales,
He writes of what's hidden,
Behind a thousand veils.

He avenges those who surrender,
In love's wake,
To the truth of belief,
The beauty of faith.
As the winds change course,
Howling one to change;
Threatening to un-endorse.
They scare to drown one's existence,
The acrid pools of faithless deviance,
It is but only the best in fairness,
To erase and de-script;
The tale gone adrift,
The precious ... turned pernicious.
