Abbie Says: #19 "Scaredy Cat Goes In The Bag"

Like everybody else, I have that one scaredy cat that is creeping around my soul. That's the one that keeps us from taking risks. Often we are too scared  feeling too happy from the fear of future bad fortune, or getting an adrenaline rush. Like I still haven't displayed the bravado of driving on a highway. But I will. Because I will put that scaredy cat in the bag. I haven't brought myself to become comfortable with men so much so as to marry one [FACT]. And I fear the cicada invasion with all my blood and guts. Okay --- there are some fears that CANNOT be overcome. Period. Let's just stick to working on driving the highways.
In the past I have grabbed my fears and overcome them for good. There was the fear of facing people --- guests at home --- and then the fear of public speaking --- and then the fear of facing the monstrous chemistry teacher who sat in the lab all day waiting to scare the daylights out of me --- and the fear of touching a half-dead toad on the biology lab's dissection table --- and the fear of riding a rollercoaster --- and even the fear of gaining weight again!
I am not going to get into the details of how I overcame those --- everybody has their own battle to fight and the way I did it may not be everybody's game. But I dived head  straight into the puddle and I resurfaced and cleaned myself off. That's what each woman should do to be able to live without regrets!

  1. Love this entry. Minus the mention of cicadas :( I may just get a panic attack thinking about those creeps!
