Great Dining Adventures From The Great Grad Trip

As we journeyed to celebrate the end of academic life on The Great Grad Trip, we decided to scare the living daylights out of our pancreas. Yes! There was a sugar and carb splurge. Of course, we skipped meals when we downed ice creams, and ate in restricted portion sizes BUT it was still splurging - considering our restricted diets. Going around the Universal Orlando Resort we dined at the Hard Rock Cafe (my rockstar dream come true!), Mythos (the most fancy shmancy awesome diner there), and The Leaky Cauldron and The Three Broomsticks at the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter. Cheers to the divine splurge. Here are some great dining adventures.
The Leaky Cauldron's Fisherman's Pie was perfect for our lunchtime need. We split the goodness into two. There was cod and shrimp in there with mashed potatoes and some veggies here and there. There were salad greens at the side to pierce through the starch load. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was from the dessert gods of the Wizarding World and we found ourselves swooning. There was a tiny little vanilla ice cream scoop that made its crowing glory, I remember pecans in the bread pudding, and the sticky caramel was yum!
Our healthy lunch (minus the deadly crinkle fries) was the black bean burger with a whole grain bun and sauteed mushrooms, at the Bayliner Diner at Cabana Bay Beach Resort - our hotel of stay. We are big fans of veggie patties and the black bean patty was so meaty in taste! The burger had lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickled cucumber. Sara & I shared this awesomeness before we left for the Wizarding World to sip our Butterbeers.
Mythos is a fine dining themed restaurant at The Islands Of Adventure at Universal Orlando Resort. We always order their Pad Thai. Its angel hair spaghetti and a serving of delicious shrimps!
Mythos' Creme Brulee has got to be the first dessert that has a small portion size and that was GOOD! Served on a delicate doily, their creme brulee was superb!
Another dessert that was ordered at our table at the Mythos was this deadly ice cream. It was crushed oreo cookies delight inside the giant ice cream scoop, and two brownie cakes with ice cream scoop centers rested in the middle. There was fudge sauce drizzled all over.
